There are many benefits to teaching your puppy to be well behaved at a young age, as they are able to learn obedience skills, appropriate toileting behaviour, and social boundaries, quite early. All of these things help build a good relationship with your puppy, to ensure a rewarding relationship with your dog for the years to come.
Puppy School is a 4 week course for young puppies in their critical learning period. It is open for all breeds of puppies between the ages of 8 - 20 weeks, and is designed to teach you how to teach and interact effectively with your own puppy. It covers obedience, so called "naughty" puppy behaviours, toilet training, handling and health checking, and socialisation, in a fun and friendly environment.
Quakers Hill Veterinary Hospital hosts Kerry Chauncy and her Puppy School on Saturday mornings, with weekday evening classes available in the Daylight Savings months. The cost for the full course is $100, and it runs for an hour each week for 4 weeks. Your puppy must have a current Vaccination Certificate, must come to class on lead (collar, haltis, gentle leaders, harnesses are accepted), and please bring some reward treats.
The most important thing about Puppy School is "start early". Waiting too long can allow behaviour issues to establish, which then require more intensive training to rectify.
Bookings are essential, so please contact Kerry:

Kerry also offers Junior Class, which is open to all ages and all obedience levels. This class runs each Saturday at 10.15am, goes for an hour, and costs $10 per class, so you can come and go as you please. This class helps to work on obedience and socialisation.
